Here are some Clapotis alternative yarns used by other bloggers. I'll be updating this as I find more. Needless to say, all these yarns are on my wishlist.

My Clapotis in Sirdar Country Style - Rose

Phil Phil - Alchemy Synchronicity. So did Amanda

Maggi -Mystical Creation Fibers

Jo - Lush - not sure what this yarn is but it looks Yummy! * Jo tells me Lush is from Classic Elite and is 50% wool and 50% angora. and yes it sounds Lush-ious! Thanks Jo*

Hapagirl - Lion Brand Kool aid dyed yarn which looks funky

Stephanie - Fleece Artist Silken

Ladybean - Koigu Kersti

Rachel - Serendipity in South America

Pure Laine - a rayon boucle that doesn't look half bad - I have a cone of rayon boucle cone still unused in my stash hmmm ....

Liz - Interlacements Merino Superwash

Karen - Cherry Tree Hill Silk Merino

Froggy - Artyarn Supermerino (gosh it looks gorgeous)

Kristine - Martheme's Inspirations Yarn

Margene - Horstia Maulbeerseide-Schurwolle - unpronouncable name for a gloriously silky sleek Clapotis.

Someone also recommended Peace Fleece which is a definite possibility.

Axelle
has some of her own hand dyed yarn which looks really beautiful. Check out her own Cashmere Clapotis.

Ball Winder and Swift

Why do I need a ball winder and swift?? Cos I crave yarns like Cherry Tree or Koigu ( see next post) that comes in huge hanks of 200 m plus.

I spent 2 hours hand winding the Merino Lace from Over the Rainbow yarns on Friday and my hands still hurts 5 days later.

I want something like this.

So if anyone is upgrading to the industrial strength super duper Fricke Brand and would like to get rid of their old ball winder, you know what to do.

Yarn Lust List

In no particuar order - these are yarns I hope to get a good deal on a sale or a swap.

1. Lorna's Laces Lion and Lamb ( 50% silk 50% wool) apparently feels and knits like butter but at $29.50 per 200 yards, it's not on the urgent "to buy" list unless I have a large bonus this year.
2. Rowan Calmer in Amour
3. Koigu Painters Pallette Merino - You know there are just too many colourways to choose from. So I'd accept anything in Green, Blue, Purple, Pink.
4. Noro Kureyon # 55, #150, # 52
5. Noro Silk Garden #8, #201,# 213
